Frequently Asked Questions

Who Is Eligible?

 

  1. This program is designed to help our store employees and direct store delivery or office warehouse employees. It doesn’t include any upper management or ownership (examples of upper management: store supervisors, regional managers, sales managers, office managers, operations managers, etc.), or employees of NCPCM or their family members. 

  2. Convenience store managers, employees and their immediate families are eligible. The qualifying employee must work at a convenience store that is a current member of NCPCM. 

  3. Direct store delivery vendors and their immediate families are eligible. Vendor companies must be current members of NCPCM. 

  4. Previous scholarship award winners may reapply. 

  5. Applicants must graduate from high school or receive equivalent certification.

How Do I Apply?

Applicants are responsible for gathering and submitting all information for the selection process. To apply for a scholarship, an applicant must:

  • Email an OFFICIAL high school or college transcript to [email protected]

  • Complete the scholarship application (Click HERE for the application)

  • All information must be submitted no later than  April 16

 

Who Supplies The Money?


    Each year the NCPCM Board of Directors allocates funds to be awarded for the scholarship program. Depending on the number of qualified applicants, scholarship winners will be awarded a minimum of $500 for the school year. Awards are offered for tuition and academic fees only. In 2010 the first Brian Fisher Memorial Scholarship was awarded in the amount of $2,000. This scholarship is funded by Southco Distributing and Fisher Stores, Inc. There will be one winner of this scholarship.
In 2019 the first Buddy Pope Memorial Scholarship was awarded in the amount of $1,000. The Buddy Pope scholarship is funded by E.J. Pope & Son, Inc./Handy Mart. There will be one winner of this scholarship.
 
In 2019 the first Burt Bennett Memorial Scholarship was awarded in the amount of $1,000. The Burt Bennett Memorial Scholarship is funded by Quality Oil Company. There will be one winner of this scholarship.

In 2020 the first Harold Berry Memorial Scholarship was awarded in the amount of $1,500. The Harold Berry Memorial Scholarship is funded by NCPCM. There will be one winner of this scholarship.

When Is Payment Awarded?

Scholarship winners will be notified in June. In late July, or after the necessary information is received, NCPCM will mail the scholarship award checks directly to the school. The checks will be made out  jointly to the individual and the school and must be endorsed by both.
